about

6am 11/26/14 Marsachusetts, USA
Mars Jptr put this track together during a sleepless night trying to make sense of the death of Mike Brown(RIP) and countless other unarmed young black men in America. Combining audio from St.Louis Police dispatches recorded just after Mike Brown's shooting death on August 9, 2014 - found through soundcloud.com/TheAnonAudio a page presented as connected to the Anonymous hacker collective -with dissonant tones and a heavy bass beat. The track ends with Mike Brown's mother, Lesley McSpadden's cries of "Why?" after the announcement on November 25th that Officer Darren Wilson had failed to be indicted by a grand jury. One St.Louis dispatcher is heard on the track reporting that “there’s an officer involved in a shooting” but warns the receiving officers that her information is coming from the news. The dispatcher continues “…we just called Ferguson back again and they don’t know anything about it.” It begs the question, how does the news and the St.Louis police know about an incident involving a Ferguson police officer before the Ferguson Police? While so many are uncertain about just how another unarmed young black man has been murdered and why the trend continues across America, one thing is for certain: this Missouri mystery has caused many misery, worldwide and especially Mike Brown’s family and the majority black community in Ferguson who still has to deal with a contentious relationship with a majority white police department. Capturing some of the uncertainty, sadness and terror of this Police State in sound form, Mars Jptr hopes that this document captures some of the fear so that we can release it and move forward, in support, in solidarity, with love.
RIP Mike Brown & the many others killed at the hands of Police in Amerikkka
